Who knew Malagos offered a baking mix that highlighted their 65% Dark Chocolate? Definitely not me! That's how I budol-ed myself into buying this Php 530 cookie mix from the resort when we explored their Chocolate Museum. I was so excited to try it that I baked it immediately the next day.
The box contained your usual cookie ingredients: flour, brown sugar, and a whole lot of 65% Dark Chocolate bars. All we needed to add in was butter and eggs.
The instructions were easy enough. Cream butter and sugars, add in the egg, sift the dry ingredients and fold in. Then, slice the bars into chunks and fold into the cookie mix. We spent about 15-20 minutes figuring it out and then refrigerated the dough for about an hour. After, we scooped them up, lined the cookie sheets with parchment paper, and positioned them for baking. We scooped around 28 cookies despite the mix estimation of 24 cookies. More cookies= more fun!
The cookies were in the oven for about 15-18 minutes before it created that golden brown crust. My little cousins loved baking and the mix helped them experience it without the hassle & mess of measuring.
The cookies came out so well! Perfectly round and they smelled so good. I liked how the dark chocolate chunks held its shape throughout the baking process. When you bite into it, the warm dark chocolate melts in your mouth and it feels like it hugs your tongue. It's sooo good. We tried savoring every cookie and saved as much as we could.
Overall, I found the Malagos Premium Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix worth it because it provided a fun bonding experience for my cousins and I. It also produced a batch of indulgent cookies, so yes, worth it! I understand that for a cookie mix it might sound a little too expensive but the experience and the batch of cookies were so sulit.
You can purchase the Cookie Mix at their website for only Php 525 or at the Chocolate Museum at the Garden Resort for Php 530. Personally, I'd go for visiting Malagos Garden Resort and making a day of it. Try going on the weekends, enjoy the bird shows, eat some great food, and visit the Chocolate Museum! The Malagos 10-Station Weekend Buffet is definitely something to try, as well.
