In a Facebook post, Cyrille Garcia shared that she became emotional when she accompanied her sister to Manila on her first day of college. "Pagbaba namin ng Vito Cruz.. I saw the big schools na. Tabi tabi lang pala yun. I felt a pain in my chest. Nanikip na parang iiyak. Alam kong iiyak na ako pinigilan ko na lang kasi ayaw ko umiyak sa harap ng kapatid ko," she said. While looking around, Cyrille admitted that she could not help but think that she could have studied in one of these big universities if only they had the resources. "Sayang kasi.. I never had the opportunity na makapag-aral sa mga ganitong school. Sayang kasi.. Kahit na alam kong kaya ko, I never had the chance because of financial problems. I have been a consistent honor student since Kinder. Alam ko kaya ko eh," she said; clarifying that although she finished college, she was not able to go a big school. "Even though I pursue scholarships, sa situation namin dati.. pamasahe pa lang hirap na kami. Pano pa yung baon? Projects? And biglaang expenses? Hindi talaga kaya. Crazy how many opportunities you lose because of poverty and lack of resources." But she realized that although she can no longer go back to change the past, she can help her sister pursue her dreams without being limited by their finances. "Ang hirap maging mahirap. Ayaw ko nang maging mahirap. I will do everything para hindi na ako or kami iiyak dahil wala kaming pera. I can't turn back time... What I can only assure is gagawin ko lahat and ibibigay ko lahat ng opportunities na I never had a chance to for my sister. I'll do it for her, for my family and my future," she said. As she was on her way home, she told her sister to make the best out of her college life. "Andito lang ako palagi. Susuportahan kita. Please live the life I didn't get the chance to."
