Singer-actor Iñigo Pascual admitted how challenging it is to be part of a Hollywood series, sharing how he questions his abilities sometimes, especially when it comes to singing country music.

According to the actor, he really had a hard time perfecting the accent so he got himself a dialect coach in order to survive the international show, Monarch.
"Noong audition ko hindi ko ginawa 'yong accent. Sabi ko hindi ko kaya kasi natatawa ako. Sabi ko magmumukha lang akong ewan if I try too hard. So as soon as I moved to Atlanta, they had a dialect coach to train me before taping. And even on set, bago ka sumalang sa set mismo, pupuntahan ka ng dialect coach at kakausapin ka, you guys would throw lines with each other just so that you would feel comfortable with the lines that you're saying during the scenes," the singer-actor recalled, as quoted by PUSH.

"Singing country music was honestly one of the biggest challenges that I had to face with this project. Ang daming beses ko na tinatanong ko sa sarili ko na, 'Marunong ba talaga ako kumanta?' Kasi imagine coming from a pop R&B singer and then you have to forget your knowledge about that," he continued.
Monarch is a country music-themed family drama about the Romans–America's ruthlessly ambitious, multigenerational leading first family of country music who has built an empire. But their massive success is actually built on a lie.
With the series revolving on country music, Iñigo said he really had to make adjustments on how to sing and act with the right accent on the show.
"It was about completely breaking that knowledge and starting a whole new genre and madaming beses na sasabihin sa 'yo sa recording booth, 'Can you sing this and can you make it sound like this?' Sa utak ko, 'Anong difference? Ano ba yung sinasabi mong mali na ginagawa ko versus ano ba yung kailangan ko gawin?'" he shared.

"So madaming beses na tinatanong ko na hindi ba ako marunong kumanta? Hindi ba ako marunong makinig ng kung anong mali na ginagawa ko? So there was a lot of things that I was questioning about my beliefs and I felt that this project really helped me hear better with what I could learn," the actor added.
Still, Iñigo has been very happy and blessed with the support of his co-stars.
