Mayor Baste congratulates SMCD Christmas installations 'Sparkle with the Holidays'

Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte extends his congratulations to SM City Davao on the launching of this year's Christmas installations with the theme "Sparkle with the Holidays". The launch was held Wednesday, October 26 at SMCD Annex, Ecoland, this city.

The Mayor extends his appreciation to SME (SM Ecoland) management and staff saying "we thank you for your effort and initiative in making our mall visits special with your festive decor and colorful lighting".

"Let this celebration solidify the spirit of love, giving, and compassion in our community," even as he urged everyone to "continue to hope and spread love, kindness and compassion".

SM Assistant Vice President for Mindanao Operations Engr. Jonathan Nick Santos said that this year they partnered with cause-oriented groups and our giving them 100 days to be in our malls to raise funds for their beneficiaries and charities.

"As we unveil our Christmas centerpiece signaling the start of Holiday Happiness and spectacle in the communities we are in, we thank the City Government for supporting our Christmas launch," he said.

The SMCD Christmas launch was witnessed by Davao City Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, Davao Tourism Association (DATA) President Cherry Al-ag, Mr. Russel D. Alaba, Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing, SM, SMCD Mall Manager Lester Tantoco, other officers and staff of the mall, members of media and valued shoppers.

Meanwhile, Santos said our annual tradition – the Bears of Joy – will feature a family of bears to keep and collect. For each one you buy, another will be donated to a community charity.
