"Rest in God's arm, Lola Flora. Mahal ka po namin." -- This is how the grandchildren of a veteran actress expressed their love for their grandmother for the last time.
The showbiz industry mourned the passing of yet another veteran actress, Flora Gasser, on November 19, as per a Facebook post of one of her grandchildren, Valerie Ocampo, on November 20.
Their Lola Flora was 89 years old. Without giving details as to the cause of their grandma's passing, she posted, "Our Lola, Flora Gasser, passed away yesterday and is now with the Lord and with our Lolo Harry."
"Her wake will be at Room 304, St. Peter's Chapel Commonwealth, QC. Viewing will start today (Nov 20, 2022) at 3pm onwards until Nov 22, 2022," she added. "Thank you for your condolences."
In another Facebook post on November 23, she gave tribute to their Lola Flora.
"Today is the last day my mom sees her mom, and me seeing my Lola. She will be turned into ashes and we will bring her back to our ancestral home. It is absolutely devastating to lose a parent/grandparent but at the same time, it's comforting to know that she is in a better place and will be reunited with the love of her life."
"Rest well, Lola. Please say hi to Lolo for me," Ocampo expressed.
Another granddaughter of Lola Flora, Sarah Aguinaldo, also gave their grandma some words of love.
"Rest in God's arm, Lola Flora. Mahal ka po namin," she posted.
"I know magkakasama na kayo ni Mommy and Lolo dyan sa taas ( emoji) Thank you for being the funny and caring Lola. You will be missed. I'm sorry hindi ako nakaabot magbigay ulit ng panggranola and milk mo like the last time (emoji)."
"I will always be proud na may lola akong artista hehe," she added.
Gasser's career spanned more than four decades where she played various roles. She was also one of the pioneers of broadcasting.
She is known for Batang Z (1996), Joey Boy Munti: 15 anyos ka sa Muntinglupa (1991) and Kumander Bawang (1988). She was married to Harry Gasser.
