Before passing away, APO Hiking Society's Danny Javier was still able to write and record song about death titled "Lahat Tayo."
Ilustre was able to arrange the song with Danny's voice and tune that was "roughly sang" on his Facebook page.
He made sure the APO Hiking Society member approved of it, he stressed.
Ilustre narrated how he was able to deliver the recording to Danny's hospital bed "through family." And when the nurse played it to Danny, and he nodded his ok, Ilustre said it was "good enough for me."
According to Ilustre, he made the music arrangement "for Danny to bring along to his journey home."
Though there was some tweaking, Ilustre said he "kept everything the way he would have wanted it."
He believes Danny wanted to share the song with everyone, including the group's loyal fans.
On YouTube, where the video was also shared, the description read: "Lahat Tayo - a song written by a man fully aware of his mortality, sang in a way that only he could deliver, singing his own sendoff ahead of his time. Danny Javier's latest song with lyrics infused with humor."
Ilustre said "Lahat Tayo" will be available on Spotify and other streaming platforms soon.
Danny's daughter Justine confirmed last Monday that Danny passed away from "complications due to his prolonged illnesses." He was 75 years old.
His APO Hiking Society peers Jim Paredes and Buboy Garrovillo led outpouring of the tributes, which also included Gary V., who shared how Danny helped him in his career by giving him his first Tagalog hit, "Di Na Natuto."
