The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 1,326 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total nationwide caseload to 4,033,682.
This is the fifth straight day that more than 1,000 new cases were recorded, with 1,874 new infections tallied on Saturday.
The department recorded fewer than 1,000 new cases for three days last week.
Based on the DOH's latest data, the country's active cases increased to 18,482 from 18,348 on Saturday--two consecutive days of more than 18,000 active cases after going down to 17,049 on November 23.
The number of recoveries climbed to 3,950,606 while the death toll rose by 23 to 64,594.
According to the DOH, the regions with the most cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 3,874 followed by Calabarzon with 1,961 and Western Visayas with 1,293.
The Health Department said at least 10,326 individuals were tested, while 314 testing labs submitted data on November 26.
DOH also said that the bed occupancy in the country was 23.1%, with 6,499 beds occupied, while 21,675 were vacant. -- Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA Integrated News
