Actress Maxene Magalona admitted that she was surprised to find out that she was tagged as the third party when rumors that Angel Locsin and Neil Arce have parted ways surfaced.
"Sabi ko talaga, saan nanggaling 'to? Kelan nangyari to? Di ako na-inform," Maxene said in an interview with Toni Gonzaga.
She also said that she did not feel the need to issue a statement to clear her name and used the attention being given to her that time to promote her advocacy instead.
"If I release a statement, then the negative energy vampires, 'yan ang tawag ko sa inyo, will see 'Ay kaya natin siya.' Sabi ko, ay maraming nanonood ng stories ko, magshe-share tayo ng mga mental health tips. 'Yun ang ginawa ko," she said.
She also cleared that she just gained weight and is not pregnant, contrary to rumors.
Maxene added that she was not bothered when she was linked to the controversy. "Not at all. I live with integrity and I speak my truth fearlessly because I know I am a woman of my word."
Neil has also dispersed the rumors in a text message to Ogie Diaz. "Me and my wife are charitable people. Donation na po namin sa fake news peddlers yang kikitain nila sa pagpapakalat ng fake news. Besides, deserve naman ng followers and subscribers nila makarinig ng kasinungalingan," he said.
In the same interview, Maxene opened up on her split with Rob Mananquil and said that she learned the importance of conscious coupling.
"Ine-encourage ko yung mga tao to practice this thing called conscious coupling that before you start dating or before you decide to date, you can actually take down all the walls and ask: ano 'yung mga plano mo? Ano 'yung mga pinagdaanan mo? Ano 'yung mga gusto mo sa buhay?" she said.
Kesa yung nagliligawan lang tayo and we're just relying on physical and sexual attraction. Kesa yun lang, we need to go deep and really find out, bagay ba tayo? Magtatagal ba to? Will this work?
