Based on the DOH's latest figures, the active tally rose by 639 cases from 17,994 on Thursday. The number of active infections on Friday is the highest in a week. The new infections also pushed the nationwide tally to 4,046,849, according to the DOH. In the recent two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) remained the region with the most number of infections recorded with 5,535. It was followed by Calabarzon with 2,194, Central Luzon with 1,064, Western Visayas with 841, and Cagayan Valley with 789. The DOH said the country's recovery tally rose to 3,963,372 with 828 new recoveries. The death toll climbed to 64,845 with 25 new deaths logged. A total of 10,609 individuals have been tested, while 326 testing labs have submitted data as of Friday, December 8.
