We should refrain from referring to Biñán as the "Vigan Destination of the South" because it somehow undervalues this Lagunense city's historical worth. The implication is that the former is inferior to the latter. With all due respect to Vigan, Biñán is more historic between the two (but of course we do not want to gloat that; for sure, Vigan won't even allow it). Biñán is its own character and should live outside the shadows of its more famous counterparts such as Vigan and Taal. Let it shed its own light. Allow its name to be sought after by others and in the process inspire them to be like Biñán.
Today, Biñán celebrates its 276th anniversary of its establishment by the Spanish Empire.
