A coastal town in Isabela was hit with a magnitude 5.6 earthquake today at 5:19 in the afternoon.
The quake struck some 18 kilometers northeast of Maconacon town.
It had a depth of 55 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

Intensity IV – Gonzaga, Cagayan
Intensity III – Ilagan, Isabela
Intensity II – Casiguran, Aurora; Batac, Pasuquin, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Santiago City, Isabela; Tabuk, Kalinga; Madella, Quirino
Intensity I – Bangued, Abra; Baler, Dipaculao, Aurora; Vigan City, Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya
Aftershocks were reported but no damage occurred during the tremor.
