"Kailangan ko pong magpakatatag…oo, magluluksa ako pero hindi ako pwedeng matagal magluksa kasi kapag nanganak ako may bagong buhay na sasandal sa akin, kaya tinatatagan ko na lang ang loob ko," Rosette Larua, widow of Overseas Worker Renato Larua who died in Taiwan fire said their child struggles to accept that her father is gone.
Remains of four overseas Filipino workers who died in blaze in factory in Taiwan arrived in the country early Sunday.
Their bodies were released at cargo center in ParaƱaque City, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Officials and personnel of Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and OWWA expressed condolences and assisted relatives in claiming OFWs' remains.
They also assisted in making arrangements to bring OFWs' remains to their respective provinces in coordination with OWWA regional offices.
Victims died in fire engulfed factory of Lian-Hwa Foods Corporation in Changhua county in central Taiwan on April 25.
MECO chair Silvestre Bello III earlier identified initial three victims as Renato Larua, 30, of Cavite; Nancy Revilla of Marinduque; and Aroma Miranda of Tarlac.
Fourth victim was Maricris Fernando of La Union, according to a later update from MECO.
Four others were hurt.
Bello earlier assured victims' families of assistance both from Philippine and Taiwanese governments.
Larua and two other Filipinos were among seven people killed by blaze that hit the Lian-Hwa Foods Corporation in Changhua county last Tuesday.
Larua no longer had pulse by the time he was pulled out of burning building.
That same day, his wife Rosette was informed of the news. She is eight months pregnant with their second child.
"'Pag pinalitan ba ng puso 'yung papa niya mabubuhay pa raw ba…pag pinalitan ang utak, yung mga body parts…ang hirap ipaliwanag sa 10-year-old kasi hindi talaga siya makapaniwala," Rosette said, in tears.
Some Overseas Workers Welfare Administration personnel came by earlier to arrange documents needed to bring Renato's remains home.
"'Yung insurance po ng death claim… so, accident, P200,000. P20,000 for burial, meron din po tayong livelihood, P15,000...ang kailangan lang po namin is yung resibo at lugar na paglalagyan ng negosyo, mron din po kaming educational assistance para sa anak niya hanggang college…pag-aaralin namin " said OWWA family welfare officer Imelda Delos Reyes-Corpuz.
A representative from Larua's manpower agency was also present to submit papers. JS Contractors Inc. will also shoulder P175,000 needed to bring home remains.
Five OFWs who survived fire are being treated and their hospital bills are covered by Taiwan's national health insurance, said OWWA Administrator Arnel Ignacio.
Bello, head of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, has communicated with authorities to investigate cause of fire.
