Comelec disqualifies Aurora Vg

Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division ordered Aurora vice governor Gerardo Noveras' disqualification in 48-page decision issued saying he committed fraudulent scheme when he asked casual employee of provincial government to print his campaign materials.
Petition for disqualification filed by Noveras' rival, Narciso Amansec, alleged Noveras, who was governor of Aurora at the time, "took undue advantage of his position by utilizing and using tarpaulin printer of provincial government of Aurora for his own personal interest and for benefit of his campaign."
Commission found Noveras "coerced, compelled and influenced his subordinates to advance his campaign."
Comelec said it would be impossible for casual employee to perform "such scale of illegal activity without knowledge and consent of his superior."
Under Comelec Rules of Procedure, Noveras can appeal ruling within five days from its promulgation.
