NGCP to complete major transmission projects

transmission grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has promised to accelerate completion of its major transmission projects after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s reminder to complete its deliverables during his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Mindanao-Visayas Interconnection Project will be fully energized to 450 megawatts by third quarter of this year, according to NGCP.
"We continue to call on all LGUs to provide necessary support with expeditious approval of all relevant permits and assistance with issues on right of way which continue to hinder seamless implementation of these projects," company said.
NGCP's access to State Grid Corp. of China's technologies will serve as advantage in supporting move into green energy space, it added.
Chinese state-owned company holds 40 percent stake in NGCP, which raised national security concerns in 2019.
