Hong Kong, Asia's World City, is one of the top destinations for business and holiday travelers. According to Hong Kong Tourism Board's website, it has an average of 55 million visits per year from diverse citizens in different parts of the world. Most foreigners can enter Hong Kong visa-free. For instance, Filipinos can stay in Hong Kong visa-free for 14 days. Although a Filipino tourist only normally stay in Hong Kong in an average of three days based on some of the tour packages availed from many travel agencies, there are a lot of things to do in Hong Kong. Here are our Top 21 suggested interesting things you can do in Hong Kong. Please let us know if some of your favorites are not yet here. We will definitely update this blog from time to time as we try more of your suggestions.

1.) Staycations

Most of these accommodations maintain world-class standards inviting everyone for one of the best staycations in their lives. Rather than the ideal 3-days itinerary in HK, we suggest that you add three more days for a lovely hibernate in one of these accommodations. Some of our top recommendations are Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Shatin (read our blog here) and Apartment O (read our blog here).

2.) Food Crawl

Exploring the gastronomic scene is one of the ways to learn about a new city when traveling. Some of our top favorites are Sha Tin 18, JAJA Hong Kong, Mr. Wolf HK, and OUR Restaurant. We have enlisted our top favorite restaurants (read our blog here) and our top favorite budget restaurants (read our blog here) .

3.) Visit Museums

On a rainy day in Hong Kong, visiting museums is one of the best indoor activities that you can do. You can visit more than 50 museums all around Hong Kong depending on the theme you are interested in. There are museums focusing on history, on culture, on art, on science, on cup noodles or any other topics you may think of. (Read our blog here)

6.) Tai O Fishing Village

Tai O Fishing Village is also known as the Venice of Hong Kong. The people here (mostly from Tanka ethnicity) maintained their traditional way of living. Apart from shopping for fish products and eating fresh seafood, there is also a 600-year old Chinese temple (Tai O Kwan Tai) that is just walking distance for about 20-30 minutes from Tai O Market. One of the reasons why we love this place is because of the laidback ambience it offers which is in contrast with mostly busy sites in Hong Kong. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

7.) The Big Buddha and the 12 Divine Generals

Before entering the vicinity of the Po Lin Monastery near Ngong Ping Village in Lantau Island, you will pass first a big arch then pass by the 12 statues of the Divine Generals which are lined up (6 statues each on both sides). These Divine Generals are the protective deities of the Buddha of Healing. Each statue represents a Chinese zodiac too. Looking at the Big Buddha, also known as Tian Tan Buddha, you will notice that his right hand is raised (symbolises dispelling affliction) while his left hand rests on his lap (symbolises a gesture of generosity).
