Along with ABSCBN's return to afternoon drama after 2 years, TV5 steps up with its afternoon programming with the debut of its afternoon block Hapon Champion.
NAG-AAPOY NA DAMDAMIN

The upcoming series stars Tony Labrusca, Ria Atayde, JC de Vera and Jane Oineza. This marks Jane's first leading role in a major series.

Joining the cast of Nag-Aapoy na Damdamin are Joko Diaz, Kim Rodriguez, Maila Gumila, Carla Martinez, Aya Fernandez and Nico Antonio. The series, which is under JRB Creative Production, is directed by FM Reyes and Benedict Migue.
PIRA-PIRASONG PARAISO

The upcoming series stars Alexa Ilacad, Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, and Elisse Joson. Charlie gained fame in hit series Viral Scandal. This marks Alexa's first leading role.

MINSAN PA NATING HAGKAN ANG NAKARAAN

The upcoming remake stars Cesar Montano and real-life couple Marco Gumabao and Cristine Reyes in the respective roles originally played by the late Eddie Garcia, Christopher de Leon and Vilma Santos. Marco and Christine previously starred in Encounter and Di Na Muli.
Minsan Pa Natin Hagkan ang Nakaraan follows the story of Helen (Cristine), who finds herself torn between two people: Rod (Marco), her old flame who mysteriously leaves her confused and heartbroken; and Cenon (Cesar), an old man who will make her fall in love again. A slew of plot twists regarding romance and redemption will lead to one of them who will prevail in the end.
Joining the cast of Minsan Pa Natin Hagkan ang Nakaraan are Mickey Ferriols, Lito Pimentel, Felix Roco, Cindy Miranda, Suzette Ranillo, Lara Morena, Abby Bautista and Keagan de Jesus. The series, which is under Studio Viva, is directed by Jerome Chavez Pobocan and Tots Sanchez-Mariscal.
With the ongoing domination of GMA's Afternoon Prime, one can only hope that ABS-CBN's return to afternoon drama will be a price of admission, especially that Pira-pirasong Paraiso will air six times a week, and that the remake will be as interesting as the original Viva hit film. Starting this Monday, it will be an interesting ride for afternoon viewers as they will witness an ABS-CBN production, its co-production with TV5 and a Viva production.
