POLICE authorities are looking into seized firearms from man reported to be former Philippine National Police (PNP) officer arrested after he was caught with 15 firearms when he drove into Camp Crame.
Suspect, whom PNP officials yet to identify, drove black Toyota Corolla Altis into PNP's main camp.
Reporters covering the PNP got word of man's capture at around 3:30 in the afternoon.
Suspect had entered Camp Crame through Gate 2, where his vehicle was inspected. When police officers opened vehicle's trunk, they saw several firearms inside.
Suspect and his vehicle were then brought to Headquarters Support Service office at Gate 1 for investigation.
Police inventory showed suspect was in possession of four shotguns, 11 handguns and several rounds of ammunition.
Several identification cards were also seen inside his vehicle.
Police officers who spoke on condition of anonymity said suspect claimed he was former police official.
The suspect was visibly angry as police officers placed him in handcuffs.
When asked by reporters for his side, the suspect shouted: "No comment!"
The suspect was brought to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for further investigation.
If proven he has no documents for his firearms, suspect could face complaints for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of election-related gun ban.
