178 ex-MILF, MNLF men made PNP hiring process

"It was stated in Bangsamoro Organic Law that PNP would recruit former members of MILF and MNLF…of 11,000 who applied, only 178 have hurdled recruitment process… standards were properly observed in this process," Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary for operations Lord Villanueva said.only 178 of 11,000 former members of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) have passed recruitment process of Philippine National Police (PNP).
Recruitment by PNP of former members of MILF and MNLF is provided under Bangsamoro Organic Law, Villanueva said during a briefing of Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.
He said 178 PNP passers are currently undergoing training.
"First batch is now in middle of a six-month training process… second batch just started few weeks ago," Villanueva said.
He said PNP recruitment process includes neuro-psychiatric examinations.
"There is also character and background investigation. .. recruitment is strict. .. nameless and faceless recruitment process…each applicant was given QR code, which was used in entire procedings," Villanueva said.
Department of Budget and Management allowed hiring of 400 former MILF and MNLF combatants to fill vacancies in PNP.
Those who did not pass can try again.
PNP allows unsuccessful applicants to take exams three times.
