Monday morning greeted residents in Davao Occidental with yet another earthquake following the magnitude 5.1 tremor last September 8.
A magnitude 4.6 earthquake rattled Davao Occidental at 6:38 early in the morning Monday, September 11.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) determined the epicenter some 368 kilometers southeast of Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The tremor which was tectonic in origin had a depth of 50 kilometers.
Instrumental Intensity I was logged in Malungon, Sarangani.
There were no reported damage or injury according to The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Before this, a magnitude 4 earthquake occurred in the same area hours earlier at 3:44 a.m. with the epicenter at 111 kilometers southeast of Balut Island with a depth of 28 kilometers.
No aftershocks were expected.
