There are more than a hundred temples scattered around the city of Bangkok. Most of them are embellished with gems and gold. They are always visited not only by devotees but also by tourists who are fascinated with the sacred vibe, grandness and artistry involved in every temple. Here are the 7 Temples we already visited in Bangkok, Thailand. Looking forward to visit the others soon.

1.) Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)

Wat Phra Kaew is regarded as the most sacred temple in Thailand. It is located within the area of the Grand Palace. It is here where the statue of the emerald Buddha is enshrined. 2.) Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

The Temple of Dawn is one of Bangkok's most spectacular sights of Bangkok especially during sunset. Its name came from the Hindu god Aruṇa, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Open daily: 8:30am-5:00pm (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

3.) Wat Pho (The Temple of the Reclining Buddha)

Also known as Wat Phra Chettuphon, Wat Pho is home to the famous Reclining Buddha. It is also a place where traditional Thai massage has been taught and practiced until today. Open daily: 9:00am-5:00pm

4.) Wat Saket (Golden Mount)

Wat Saket is a temple situated on top of the only hill in Bangkok. It will take you to climb up 320 steps to reach the temple, discover various Buddha statues in different poses, and enjoy the panoramic view of the Rattanakosin Island. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

5.) Wat Bowonniwet (Temple where the Viceroy Resides)

Wat Bowwonniwet is a temple located few minutes away Khao San Road. The architecture is a mixture of Thai and Chinese influences. It was used as the residence of the monarch when he was ordained during the reigns of King Rama IV the Great to King Rama VII and His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. 6.) Wat Ratchanaddaram

This shrine was built towards the end of the reign of King Rama III to honour the royal granddaughter (later she was the first consort of King Rama IV the Great and was known as Queen Sommanat Wattanawadi).

7.) Wat Traimit Withayaram

This temple is located at Charoen Krung Road (near Hua Lamphong and Yaowarat) which is considered as the Chinatown area of Bangkok. It is a second-class royal temple of the Worawihan class and originally was called Wat Sam Chin because there is a story that there were three Chinese people who worked together to build this temple.

On our next visit to Thailand, we are looking forward to visit Wat Benchama Bophit (Marble Temple) and Erawan Shrine (Temple of the four-faced brahma God or Tao Mahaprom).
