The best nature camping in the province of Pangasinan is in Malico! Now you don't have to go to Baguio or Rizal for a calm and peaceful camping site in the mountains, Pangasinan boasts off camping in Malico for adventure and nature trip.
I enjoy a place with minimal noise pollution. For instance, therapy sounds like wind blows, crackling sound of trees and birds chirping. It's the exact definition of tranquility for me! Malico is a laid-back paradise just waiting to be discovered.
To give you a bit of information, Malico is a barangay in the municipality of San Nicolas, in the province of Pangasinan. It is the farthest barangay being 40km away from the town proper and adjoins the provincial boundary with the province of Nueva Vizcaya. In fact it is even closer to Nueva Vizcaya being only 13km away.
Moreover, Malico has been the ancestral home of the Kalanguya Tribe. These indigenous people came from tribes in the Cordillera Region known as the Igorots. Hence, Ilocano is widely spoken in Malico.
The road to Malico gives you a nostalgic feeling of going to Baguio City because of its zigzag road and dense pine tree forest.
Furthermore, the easiest and most cost-effective way to get to Malico is by private car or motorcycle. Unfortunately the road is not yet open to public transportations/vehicles like jeepneys, buses or multicabs. The only way to get here is through private vehicle and motorcycle.
