October 14, 2023, (Los Angeles, California). Golf Tournament like no other. The very first charity event of Alpha Phi Omega Theta Chapter will be having its golf tournament benefiting the people who matter on November 04, 2023, at the Los Lagos Golf Course in Corona, California. Henry Astorga currently serves as President of the Alpha Phi Omega THETA Alumni Association of North America. The APO Alumni organization is but a small subset of a much larger entity that rose out of the Philippines years ago. Henry's present role is simply a culmination of the number of roles and other functions he has rendered over the years to both the Alpha Phi Omega service network and other non-profit organizations. He has served in various leadership and administrative capacities within a variety of APO associations over the last number of years. These are just a few: President of the APO Alumni Association of Northern California (NorCal) Secretary of the Alumni Council of North America (ACNA) PRO of the Alumni Council of North America (ACNA) Vice-President of APO Theta Alumni Association of North America. Currently, President of APO Theta Alumni of North America True to his standing as a bonafide APO adherent and advocate for its services programs, Henry carries the torch of the organization's principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service with the same allegiance and commitment as any other APO member. His lifelong dedication to APO has taken him to various service paths and humanitarian efforts in both North America and the Philippines. The charity golf event at Dos Lagos Golf Course on November 4, 2023, is but one classic example of the organization's commitment to community service, which he has gladly helped to oversee.
Alpha Phi Omega (ΑΦΩ), commonly known as APO, but also A-Phi-O and A-Phi-Q, is a coeducational service fraternity. It is the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States, with chapters at over 350 campuses, an active membership of over 25,000 students, and over 500,000 alumni members. There are also 250 chapters in the Philippines, one in Australia and one in Canada. The 500,000th member was initiated in the Rho Pi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at the University of California, San Diego.
Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity organized to provide community service, leadership development, and social opportunities for college students. The purpose of the fraternity is "to assemble college students in a National Service Fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Scout Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship, and to provide Service to humanity; and to further the freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage."Alpha Phi Omega's primary focus is to provide volunteer service within four areas: service to the community, service to the campus, service to the fraternity, and service to the nation and world.
