A new hero is set to hit the road with Black Rider.
The upcoming series stars Ruru Madrid in the title role, alongside Matteo Guidicelli, Yassi Pressman and Katrina Halili. This marks Yassi's return to the network.
Black Rider follows the life of Elias (Ruru), a motorcycle driver for the delivery app Biyahero. A slew of events will lead him to create a new identity called the "Black Rider", a vigilante who will go against Golden Scorpion, the country's notorious syndicate.
Joining the powerhouse cast of Black Rider are Zoren Legaspi, Raymart Santiago, Gary Estrada, Raymond Bagatsing, Isko Moreno, Monsour del Rosario, Roi Vinzon, Rio Locsin, Gladys Reyes, Maureen Larrazabal, Almira Muhlach, Empoy Marquez, Janus del Prado, Rainier Castillo, Jayson Gainza, Jon Lucas, Joem Bascon, Dustin Yu, Joaquin Manansala, Kim Perez, Vance Larena, Saviour Ramos, Shanti Dope, Pipay, Ashley Rivera, Turing, Prince Clemente, Mariel Pamintuan, Ashley Sarmiento and Marco Masa, with Kylie Padilla on a special participation role. The series, which is produced by GMA Public Affairs, is directed by Rommel Penesa and Richard Arellano.
While Ruru previously showcased his chops in action in Encantadia, Sherlock Jr., TODA One I Love and Lolong, it will be a challenge for him to showcase more of his action scenes and stunts in Black Rider. The series will also pay homage to motorcyclists. Starting this Monday, it will be an interesting ride for primetime viewers as they will witness a regular motorcycle driver transform into one of the country's modern heroes.
