A light plane that crashed in Isabela, Philippines, faced challenges in its rescue operations. The province's disaster risk reduction management office (DRRMO) reported that aerial rescue was not possible on Tuesday due to the crash site being shrouded in clouds. Furthermore, the diminishing daylight prevented aerial rescuers from proceeding. Consequently, the rescue team was formulating strategies for Wednesday morning. However, the local weather, influenced by the northeast monsoon or amihan, posed potential disruptions for the next day's operations. Ground rescuers were attempting to reach the crash site on foot.
The aircraft, identified as a Piper PA-32-300, was located on Tuesday morning in San Mariano, Isabela. It had been missing since the previous Thursday, having departed from Cauayan Airport. The fate of the pilot, Captain Levy Abdul II, and the sole passenger was still uncertain at the time of the report.
