A man was recently apprehended by authorities following allegations from his ex-girlfriend, accusing him of circulating private photos and videos of her. The arrest, conducted by the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, occurred during an entrapment operation. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend sent these private images to her relatives during their breakups. Their on-and-off relationship eventually ended in December, and this time, her co-worker received the sensitive content, prompting her to report the incident.
The victim expressed her distress over the repeated invasion of her privacy, emphasizing the sheer number and nature of the images. Facing multiple charges, including violations under the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act and Grave Coercion, the suspect could face a heightened penalty due to the use of information and communications technology (ICT), potentially leading to a prison sentence of 12 to 20 years if convicted.
