Siquijor is our 42nd province to visit in the Philippines. It may be the third smallest province in terms of population and land area, but its charm is boundless. A mere day is all it takes to explore this captivating island. We embarked on our journey from the Port of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, and the following day, we set sail from the Port of Siquijor to Bohol. Prepare to be enchanted as we reveal the top 8 things to do in Siquijor, Philippines!
1.) Cambugahay Falls
One of the top reasons why I went to Siquijor is the viral video I saw in tiktok where someone will tarzan out to a bluish green waterfalls surrounded by large trees. This is Cambugahay Falls. We spent about 20 US dollars for the private tuktuk ride and10dollars total tips for the human drone. The experience is worth it apart from the instagrammable clips that we have. 2.) Balete Tree
Balete Tree is absolutely renowned for its incredible pond, where fish known for their ability to eat calluses thrive. Just imagine dipping your feet into the water and experiencing the delightful sensation of these energetic fish pampering you. It's almost like being treated to a fish spa! 3.) Heritage Sites
One of the gems in Siquijor is its old churches. You can definitely pass by some of them during your tour. The first church we got to see was Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church as it is just a 2-minute walk from Port of Siquijor. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)
4.) Siquijor Boulevard
Siquijor Boulevard holds the essence of innovation in this province. You cannot help but feel pure joy while walking or jogging along this splendid thoroughfare at the break of dawn or at the onset of dusk. As night falls, the boulevard comes alive with the hustle and bustle of fresh seafood delights. Moreover, it serves as a vital link to the Port of Siquijor, making it an integral part of the local community's rhythm and pulse. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)
5.) Foodtrip
We were really hoping to indulge in some fresh seafood, but to our dismay, the seafood vendors were nowhere to be found along Siquijor Boulevard. It turns out they were off celebrating a special event with their group. Fortunately, we didn't have to go home empty-handed, as we were able to explore other tempting options like the delectable pastries at Joel's Lechon Manok, the cozy ambiance of Jainin's Cafe, the familiar comfort of Jollibee, and the delightful offerings at Bellview Restaurant. 6.) Staycation
We were incredibly inspired by the glowing recommendation our friends shared about Coco Grove Beach Resort, which they hailed as one of the most exceptional resorts in the province. Regrettably, due to our extensive three-week journey, we found ourselves losing sight of our budget. During our time in Siquijor, we chose to stay at the delightful mid-range accommodations of Assisi Island Hotel or the more budget-friendly Tumamak Lodge. Although we couldn't experience Coco Grove Beach Resort this time, we remain eager to visit in the future. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)
7.) Spa
As a tourist destination, you shouldn't miss out on the spa experiences available in this province. Ensure you book in advance, as these popular spots tend to fill up quickly. One of our highly recommended spas is Nuat Thai. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)
8.) Gateway to Next Destination/ Gateway to Bohol
This province can be your gateway to Bohol or Negros Oriental via ship. I am uncertain if an airport is also possible to be set up in this island province as it only measures 343.5 square kilometers. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)
