ePLDT, through its data center subsidiary, VITRO Inc. is gearing up to boost the Philippines' position as an emerging data center hub in Asia Pacific as it sets to open the country's biggest and first true hyperscale data center facility.
Situated in a 5-hectare property in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, the 50 MW capacity VITRO Sta Rosa (VSR) is on target to go live this coming July. To ensure power availability and redundancy to clients who will start deploying their equipment in the facility as early as June, VSR's dedicated Meralco switching station is scheduled to be energized by April 2024.
In building a true carrier neutral facility, VITRO Inc. partnered with major telcos and internet service providers, including Radius, Eastern Communications, Infinivan, and its parent company, PLDT, as part of its strategy to strengthen its diverse telco ecosystem within the facility before launch. More telco and carrier partnerships are set to be announced in the succeeding weeks.
With recent advancements in its data center services, ePLDT and VITRO Inc. President and CEO Victor S. Genuino said these are all aligned with PLDT Group's vision of putting the digital infrastructure in place that will help advance the nation's efforts for a digitally enabled Philippines.

VSR is a massive purpose-built 50-megawatt hyperscale facility designed to be Rated 3-Certified and Rated 4-Ready. It is equipped with three fiber routes to ensure network diversity, resilience, and carrier-neutrality. It will be implementing global-class sustainability practices in supply, operations, and design based on LEED standards.
