Op Shop Haul

February 28

It's like, as soon as I sit down in front of my ancient laptop with the intention to blog, it's suddenly so not happening. But when I'm at work looking at colons on the screen, my mind actively churns out all these brilliant sentences and ideas that I could definitely maybe use on my blog posts.

I'm starting to wonder if the sight of liquid shit in the large intestines stimulates some form of primal creativity within me.

So, anyway, clothes. I was thinking about clothes. More specifically, I thought about blogging about my op shop hauls. Something I've done before, but inconsistently. I don't go op shopping that much but it would be nice to document it if I do.

I mean, I certainly enjoy watching other people's videos about their hauls so why not post mine?

So, yeah.

I went op shopping earlier this week at my local shop. My new favourite one because my original favourite moved to a location that's a bit out of my way. Spent a good 15 minutes flipping through old records while admiring their cool covers because that's also my new favourite thing as of late. Jeff had set up a portable record player for me upstairs complete with bass speakers to improve its sound quality and I have to say I'm really enjoying the experience.

Until I have to get up from my chair to turn the record over, that is.

At any rate, it makes up for my lack of exercise.

While Salvos had heaps of records for sale, I only found three that interested me: Barry Manilow (don't laugh), Joan Baez, and Mary O'Hara.

Joan Baez, I kind of heard of, albeit vaguely. The other artist, Mary O'Hara, never. I haven't bothered to check out Mary yet but I gave Joan a listen as soon as I got home and her music reminds me of the famous Filipino folk band, Asin. It's actually quite good if you're in the mood for something ethereal.

The rest of the stuff I bought were mostly clothes and some accessories. Trying to pass the time while waiting for Jeff to come pick me up as he was also out on his own retail adventure shopping for batteries or whatever electronic stuff that floats his boat.

We support each other's madness. And for that, I am grateful.
