In a heartfelt tale of cross-cultural union, a Polish woman, Joanna Buniel, has chosen to leave behind the luxuries of her life in Poland to embrace a simpler, more fulfilling life in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines, with her Filipino husband, Glen.

Joanna's story, featured on "Dapat Alam Mo," highlights her seamless integration into the Filipino way of life. From engaging in daily household chores like marketing, cooking, gardening, and doing laundry, Joanna has fully immersed herself in the local culture, much to the delight and gratitude of Glen, who appreciates her adaptability and lack of pretension.

The couple's journey began in 2017 when they met online and developed a friendship that soon blossomed into love. Joanna's first visit to the Philippines in 2018 marked the beginning of their life together, leading to their marriage a year later.

Despite the comfortable life they could have had in Poland, Joanna expressed her preference for the simpler, more intimate lifestyle in the Philippines. "The life is more simple here. I have more time to spend with my family, with my friends," Joanna remarked, highlighting the value she finds in the closeness of community and family ties in her adopted homeland.

Glen initially had reservations about how well Joanna would adapt to the stark differences in upbringing and culture. However, he is now profoundly thankful for her willingness to embrace the provincial life wholeheartedly.
