Chocolate is the one gift that often come to mind when you think of Valentine's Day. For years, this treat has been the go-to present for people who would like to give their better halves something sweet and indulgent in this season of love.

But buying your usual name brand chocolates can seem a bit basic, especially if you want to get your Valentine a memorable and unique eating experience.
So, why not try something different and opt to buy more creative and imaginative chocolates?
Sognare is an Iloilo-based shop that creates and sells chocolates made from locally-sourced beans in the Philippines.
Deriving its name from its Italian translation, which means "dream," this chocolate shop ventures into the unknown by giving customers a taste of unique flavor profiles in chocolate, such as Calamansi, Lychee, and Coco Pandan.
This idea of creating a chocolate shop came from the father-daughter duo of Dr. Alfredo Gulmatico and Stephanie Gulmatico. The two were inspired after visiting a cacao plantation that created its chocolates from scratch.
After this visit, Stephanie continued to expand her knowledge on chocolate-making by studying abroad. Through this, she was able to perfect her craft and start producing beautifully-made chocolates sourced from their own cacao beans.
"In each chocolate made, from the cacao seeds harvested up to the final packaging, Sognare is the realization of that dream made into reality," the store states in their packaging.
Today, Sognare continues to uphold its promise of making dreams into reality by creating chocolate bars, bon-bons, and even chocolate sculptures for its sweets-loving customers.
In fact, they sometimes even go above and beyond (depending on the request of the customer) and produce out-of-the-ordinary chocolate creations to suit special events and occasions. In the post below, the shop created gender reveal chocolate squares that give the customer and their guests the chance to find out the baby's sex by biting into the chocolate pieces and revealing the color inside.
