In an electrifying display of basketball prowess, the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to 11 games, delivering a crushing defeat to the Golden State Warriors with a staggering final score of 140-88. The game, held at TD Garden on Sunday, March 3, 2024, saw the Celtics lead by an astonishing 56 points at one stage, marking one of the most dominant performances in the franchise's storied history.

From the onset, Boston's sharpshooting was on full display, with the team hitting 15 out of 24 attempts from beyond the arc in the first half alone, securing an 82-38 lead by halftime. This 44-point margin at the interval set a new record for the largest halftime lead in Celtics history. The team's shooting accuracy was unmatched, as they maintained a 60 percent success rate from the field in the first half, committing a mere single turnover.

The Warriors found themselves outpaced early on, trailing by up to 45 points in the second quarter, which led both teams to rest their starters for the majority of the second half. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum spearheaded Boston's offensive onslaught, scoring 29 and 27 points, respectively, with Tatum celebrating his 26th birthday in grand style. Overall, the Celtics were relentless from the 3-point line, converting 25 out of 49 attempts.

On the Warriors' side, Lester Quinones emerged as the top scorer with 17 points, but the team's struggle was evident as they found themselves down 115-62 by the end of the third quarter. Star player Steph Curry faced a particularly challenging night, managing only four points and failing to convert any of his nine 3-point attempts in the first half before sitting out the second half. Klay Thompson also did not return for the second half due to a hamstring injury, further dampening the Warriors' hopes.

This defeat halts Golden State's eight-game road winning streak, while the Celtics had to navigate the absence of center Kristaps Porzingis, sidelined with a left quad contusion. Despite this, the Celtics' early momentum, highlighted by a first quarter where they surged from a tied score to a commanding 22-point lead, laid the groundwork for their historic victory.

This game marks the second encounter between the two teams this season, with the Warriors having previously secured an overtime victory against the Celtics in December. This latest matchup, however, firmly establishes Boston's dominance, showcasing their depth and firepower as they continue their impressive winning streak.
