Michelle Dee Reflects on Wearing Her Miss Universe Evening Gown for Final Walk

Michelle Dee made a poignant choice to wear her Miss Universe 2023 evening gown one last time during her final walk at the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night.

Honoring the Journey

In an Instagram post, the Kapuso actress and beauty queen explained that it was a "no-brainer" to don the gown for her final walk. Dee emphasized that wearing the gown again was a way to give it its own moment and to honor her pageant journey.

"It was a no-brainer for me to wear it (for the last time) during my final walk," she wrote. Dee added that this gesture was a tribute to her supporters and the collective effort that went into her success. "Wearing it again felt like I was also giving homage to every story, every drop of sweat, and every ounce of effort that all of you did to create such a transformational force to the universe and I have to reiterate that my success that came after is all of ours to share," she said.

A Symbol of Pride and Gratitude

Dee's choice of gown, an Apo Whang Od-inspired piece by Mark Bumgarner, held significant meaning. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her and reaffirmed her commitment to representing her supporters with pride. "Thank you for allowing me to represent us with so much pride in our hearts and know that whenever you need me, I'll be right here waiting for your call," she added.

Crowning Her Successor

During the event, Michelle crowned Chelsea Manalo from Bulacan as the new Miss Universe Philippines. Chelsea will represent the Philippines at the upcoming international pageant in Mexico.
