After discovering the works of the Japanese artist Hokusai and his masterpiece "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji," I felt a surge of inspiration to undertake a similar project. However, I wanted to localize the concept here in the Philippines, focusing on presenting Taal Lake from the diverse perspectives offered by the 11 towns that surround it. These towns, originating from the neighboring provinces of Cavite and Batangas in Region IV-A, each hold unique and captivating views of the majestic Taal Lake. The towns of Talisay, Laurel, San Nicolas, Balete, Agoncillo, Mataas na Kahoy, Cuenca, Alitagtag, Tanauan, Lipa, and Santa Teresita each contribute distinct angles and personalities to this breathtaking landscape. It's important to note that Tagaytay City, while offering stunning views of Taal Lake, is not included in this circle, as it does not directly border the lake. This project fills me with excitement as I anticipate the rich tapestry of perspectives that will be captured in this exploration of Taal Lake's beauty. So far, I have been to 3 out of 11 of these towns.
1.) Laurel
We took some pictures of Taal from Charito Bag of Beans, Twin Lakes property, and The Oriental Luxury Suites Tagaytay hotel. These properties are technically located in the town of Laurel, Batangas. The view from Charito Bag of Beans offers a breathtaking panorama of the Taal Volcano, with its pristine waters and the lush greenery around it. Similarly, at the Twin Lakes property, the picturesque scenery of the Taal Lake and Volcano, coupled with the surrounding landscape, provides an idyllic setting for capturing memorable moments. As for The Oriental Luxury Suites Tagaytay hotel, the expansive vistas of the Taal Volcano and the tranquil ambiance make it a prime spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. Furthermore, the unique perspectives and vantage points at each location allowed us to capture the essence and beauty of Taal in distinct ways, showcasing its splendor from various angles and elevations. 2.) Mataas na Kahoy
We took some breathtaking pictures of the stunning view of Taal Lake from our cozy Airbnb perched on the hilltop. The tranquil beauty of the surroundings was truly mesmerizing, and we were able to capture the ever-changing colors of the lake as the day unfolded. The Hilltop Canopy and Tomato and Basil Cafe added to the charm of the experience, offering a perfect setting to savor the picturesque landscape while enjoying delicious meals. As the sun set over the horizon, painting the sky with a palette of warm hues, we found ourselves enchanted by the tranquil ambiance, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
3.) Balete
We took a closer picture of the lake from the boulevard of the Town of Balete, Batangas, and the sight was both captivating and haunting. The water shimmered under the golden rays of the sun, reflecting the surrounding greenery. However, the tranquility of the lake was juxtaposed by the visible aftermath of the recent typhoon. Trees lay uprooted, their branches scattered across the landscape, and some nearby roads were heavily damaged, making access to the lake challenging. Despite the destruction, there was a sense of resilience in the air as local communities came together to begin the process of rebuilding and healing. The devastating impact of the typhoon served as a reminder of the power of nature, but also highlighted the unwavering spirit of the people in the face of adversity.
