Despite her failed marriage to Tom Rodriguez, Carla Abellana remains open to love, though she isn't actively seeking it at the moment.
In a recent appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Kapuso actress shared that she has grown stronger, wiser, and more vulnerable through her experiences, affirming that she is now genuinely happy.
"It was a difficult journey to get to this point, but yes, definitely, confident po na sabihin na I'm happy, very happy," Carla said.
When asked if she is ready to meet new people, Carla explained that she is not focusing on that right now. "At this point po, it's one thing na hindi ko po masyadong iniisip, especially with the amount of work that we have at very little time that we have left for ourselves to rest, recover, for personal matters, hindi po siya priority," she stated.
Carla echoed Tito Boy's sentiment that she is just going with the flow. "Ayokong i-close po 'yung sarili ko. I don't want to be too bitter or too angry at the world. Ayoko din naman pong maging open. Ayokong hanapin or habulin. Whatever comes na lang po along the way, we'll see kung where it will take me."
In the same interview, Carla was asked for a message to her future partner. With a smile, she responded, "Siguro 'see you soon,' naks! 'I hope to meet you soon.' Nagmadali, kakasabi ko lang na 'di ko hinahanap eh," she quipped. "I guess, siguro, I can't wait to see how our paths will cross," she added joyfully.
Carla and Tom were together for seven years before marrying in October 2021. They divorced the following year, with Tom, an American citizen, filing for divorce in the United States. Since their separation, Carla has been sharing her healing and self-love journey on social media, including a visual poem titled "Mahinahon."
In 2023, Carla announced that she had moved on and is now set to star in "Widows' War" alongside Bea Alonzo, which will begin airing on July 1 at 8:50 p.m.
