It is not that I have favoritism in world history, but Ferdinand Magellan, not just one of the great explorers in history but THE GREATEST EXPLORER in human history, had a paramount significance in the prehistory of my country, the Philippines. Without his courageous determination in finding a Western route towards the Moluccas in the 16th century, there would have been no Philippines which we have known today as superficially unique among the rest of the Universe. Hence, as a Filipino, I owe so much the revelation of a very diverse and peculiar history and culture the Filipinos have, and for introducing Jesus Christ in our lives.
