Converge ICT Solutions donated two shuttles to the UP Fighting Maroons on June 3 at Quezon Hall, UP Diliman (UPD).
Orange Ramirez, brand and marketing head, and Joven Quintana, senior marketing services specialist, of Converge, formally handed over the keys to UP officials led by President Angelo Jimenez, UPD Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II, and Director Bo Perasol of the Office for Athletics and Sports Development. The UP men's basketball team (UPMBT) and their coaches, and nowheretogobutUP Foundation officials led by its chair, Jed Eva III, were also at the event.
Perasol expressed the University's gratitude to Converge not only for the donation, but more importantly, "for being there for us and with us during tough times while we were in the middle of the pandemic." He was referring to the company's provision of free internet access to UP students for remote learning. The support was coursed through the UP System program, Kaagapay UP.
Hyatt Basman, UPMBT assistant team manager, added that the shuttles will not only benefit the UPMBT, but other varsity teams as well.
