First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos recently held a productive meeting with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, during her visit to the United Arab Emirates. She expressed her gratitude for the insightful discussions in an Instagram post.
Accompanying her was Rafael Consing Jr., president of the Maharlika Investment Corp. (MIC), which manages the Philippines' first sovereign wealth fund, the Maharlika Investment Fund.
In addition to her meeting with ADIA, Marcos also engaged with representatives from the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, where she was impressed by the UAE's commitment to fostering clean energy worldwide. She praised the discussions on how these innovations are shaping a sustainable future.
Marcos also met with Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the Philippines and UAE, particularly in culture, arts, heritage, early childhood development, and investment in human capital.
During her visit, Marcos toured the Qasr Al Watan, the UAE's presidential palace, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
