First aired on April 1, My Guardian Alien stars Marian Rivera as 11-1-20-8-5-22-9-12-5, an alien who took in the form of Katherine, who was killed prior. She stars alongside Gabby Concepcion and Raphael Landicho. This marked Marian's return to primetime after seven years.
The series performed well throughout its run, averaging within 9-11% and usually dominated over Linlang and High Street. It will have a total of 65 episodes once it reaches its extraordinary ending this Friday.
My Guardian Alien managed to combine family drama with science fiction, involving the alien's adaption to human nature and its closeness to humans, especially when it comes to the form of a deceased human. Marian's return to primetime is worth the price of admission as she managed to embrace a more mature role, as well as a role extraordinary for her. Not to mention the tandem of Kiray Celis and Christian Antolin added more fun to the series.
So much for an alien learning how to feel and love. That said, My Guardian Alien has one more week to accomplish her mission on earth. Regardless of the outcome, an extraordinary, yet happy ending awaits viewers.
