I've seen a lot of posts of this so I wanted to try it. Now the thing is, I over estimated the ingredients. So instead of just 2/3 cup, I added 2 and 3/4 cups. What a difference! That's why I have too much sauce here. I had to transfer to a big bowl.
To cook the egg, boil it. The guy said 5 minutes and 50 seconds but it's not so goey. Maybe I need to take it down to 5 minutes. Then transfer to water with ice and let it cool down.
For the sauce:
In a bowl, I added:
2 3/4 cup of water
2 3/4 cup of soy sauce (anything will do)
green onions, chopped, about 1 tbsp
garlic, chopped, 5 cloves, ( because I love garlic)
chives, chopped, about 1 tbsp
2 3/4 cup of brown sugar
chili powder (because I didn't have chilis)
1 table spoon of chili oil
Then I stirred everything in the bowl.
When everything is dissolved, add the eggs. Let it sit for 4 hours or overnight.
Again, I overestimated my ingredients. So you can make adjustments. You can just do 1/2 of water and 1/2 of soy sauce. The rest you can follow.
Enjoy!
