With so much to explore and experience, Dapa offers a memorable and enriching travel experience for everyone. I have not done these things but below are the three things I did when I was there.
1.) Get a jeepney from Dapa Jeepney Central Terminal
I was coming from the town of Carmen that time and Dapa was the midpoint going directly to Luna, Siargao. Some of the people landing to Siargao airport also pass by this town. During my visit, the central terminal was devastated by the typhoon. The locals were working tirelessly to rebuild their community, demonstrating unbelievable resilience and determination in the face of the destruction. Despite the challenges, the natural beauty of the area remained stunning, with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters offering a sense of tranquility amidst the recovery efforts. The spirit of the people was inspiring, and it was a humbling experience to witness their unwavering commitment to restoring their town to its former vibrancy.
2.) Try the airconditioned carinderia
Near the Port of Dapa, nestled within the charming coastal surroundings, you can find a delightful array of clean, comfortable, and unassuming food establishments. As I sat down for a delightful lunch before embarking on my journey back to Surigao City, I couldn't help but appreciate the inviting atmosphere and the delectable local cuisine on offer. The warm hospitality of the locals and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen created an experience that was not just about nourishment, but also about a genuine connection to the rich culinary tradition of the region. From the freshly caught seafood to the aromatic rice dishes, every bite was a testament to the culinary expertise and the authentic flavors that define this coastal haven.
3.) Port of Dapa
Hop on to your next destination through the port of Dapa, a bustling hub of activity with boats coming and going, and the salty sea breeze filling the air. I was heading to Surigao City that time, looking forward to exploring the vibrant markets and tasting the local cuisine. The journey from Dapa to Surigao City was filled with stunning views of the surrounding islands, with crystal clear waters and lush greenery as far as the eye could see. As the boat glided through the calm sea, I couldn't help but feel a sense of adventure and anticipation for the experiences that awaited me in Surigao City.
