Davao City - The University of Mindanao (UM) and the 2202nd Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade (2202RRIBde), PA, today, 13 July 2024, forged an agreement that will strengthen the capabilities of the Army reservists under the 2202RRIBde.
The UM will provide seminars and training programs to the officers and enlisted personnel of the Brigade that will contribute to the professional development, readiness, and effectiveness of the unit, ultimately enhancing the ability of its personnel to fulfill their missions.
The agreement was signed by UM Chief Executive Officer Dr. Guillermo P. Torres, Jr. and 2202RRIBde Brigade Commander Colonel Isidro T Ungab GSC PA (RES).
Dr. Torres is also an Army reserve officer with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is the commander of the 1st Metro Davao Signal Battalion. Recently, Dr. Torres was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Mindanao Development Authority (MINDA) representing the Mindanao academic sector.
After the MOA signing, a film documentary produced by the iDocu of Mr. John Paul S. Seniel was launched. The film, entitled Serve and Save, highlights the spirit of volunteerism and dedication of the Army reservists in serving our country and our people.
The film also narrates the active role of the army reservists in ensuring the community compliance with health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as their involvement and active participation in security augmentation during major activities in the City of Davao.
The 2202RRIBde is being administered by the 1105th Community Defense Center (1105CDC) headed by Colonel Reandrew P Rubio INF (GSC) PA. It is also being supervised by the 11th Regional Community Defense Group (11RCDG) under the command of Colonel Josue M Caberto MI (GSC) PA.# with CPT EARLE D FERRER JR PA (RES)ith
