Blacklisted alien nabbed in Tawi-Tawi

IMMIGRATION authorities are looking into five foreign nationals blacklisted arrested in Tawi-Tawi, Bureau of Immigration (BI) said agents arrested four Indian nationals and Malaysian national on June 28 who did not have necessary travel documents and requirements.
According to BI, personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Tawi-Tawi reported monitoring four Indian nationals aboard vessel.
Upon arrival of the said vessel in Bongao in Tawi-Tawi, PCG discovered Malaysian national allegedly traveling with Filipina girlfriend.
According to BI, initial interview revealed Indian nationals lacked immigration stamps, while Malaysian national was unable to present passport.
It was later found that the four Indian nationals are on Philippines' blacklist and were trying to enter illegally to evade immigration checks.
Malaysian national, on the other hand, is suspected to be involved in human trafficking.
BI recommended five foreign nationals be charged for illegal entry, citing violation of Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.
