The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed that Wesley Leal Guo, brother of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, shares identical fingerprints with Chinese citizen Guo Xiang Dan, according to Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.
"Guo Xiang Dan is Wesley Leal Guo. This is according to the fingerprint matching of the NBI using the BOI (Board of Investments) records and the NBI biometric records," Gatchalian stated in a Viber message to reporters.
On Tuesday, Gatchalian released copies of Wesley's Philippine passport and Guo Xiang Dan's Chinese passport from the Guo family's Special Investor's Resident Visa (SIRV). He mentioned that Guo Xiang Dan arrived in the Philippines in 1999 and was listed as the dependent son of Lin Wen Yi, who is registered as the mother of Guo Hua Ping (Alice Guo) in her SIRV.
"He's listed as the dependent son of Lin Wen Yi which made him Guo Hua Ping's brother. Wesley Leal Guo is an incorporator of CDAG Realty Corporation in which Alice Guo is the majority owner," Gatchalian added.
Gatchalian emphasized that this case "demonstrates that the late registration process was abused by the Guo family to falsely claim that they are Filipinos."
Mayor Alice Guo, her father Jian Zhong Guo, her suspected biological mother Lin Wen Yi, and siblings Shiela, Seimen, and Wesley were also subpoenaed to attend the Senate investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.
Gatchalian also called for continued investigation into the existence of multiple individuals claiming to be Alice Guo. "Continue to investigate the existence of the two other Alice Guos. If they are real or not. Because there is only one birth certificate of an Alice Guo in [Philippine Statistics Authority] albeit it is irregular," he said.
During a Senate hearing, the PSA revealed that it had endorsed the cancellation of Mayor Guo's birth certificate after identifying irregularities in her birth registration process.
Mayor Guo is central to the Senate's investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban due to her alleged involvement in processing documents for its operations. She has consistently denied being a Chinese citizen, asserting that she was born to a Chinese father and a Filipino mother.
On Tuesday, Gatchalian urged her to "expose the main players" in illegal POGOs in the country.
