All 38 Architecture graduates of the University of the Philippines (UP) who took the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) licensure examinations on June 11 and 13 passed, with three of them landing in the top five examinees, results released by the PRC on June 19 revealed.
The 27 exam-takers from UP Diliman and the 11 from UP Mindanao—all first-time takers of the exams—passed. They come from the only two UP units that offer a BS Architecture program: UPD's College of Architecture and UPMin's College of Humanities and Social Science. Both have a tradition of a 100% passing rate in the PRC exams.
UPD graduates comprised three of the five who got the five highest ratings. Patricia de Leon was at number 2 with 83.4%; Alyssa Rose Napoles, at number 3 with 83.1%; and Ida Talia Hernandez, at number 4 with 82.3%. Danielle Marie Huang, also of UPD, was one of the two at number 10 with 81.5%.
Of the 99 schools with graduates who took the latest exams, two other schools scored a 100% passing rate. One of them was Pangasinan State University-Urdaneta, which had six first-time exam takers.
The list of PRC's top schools of architecture, which consists of schools with at least 50 exam-takers registering at least an 80% passing rate, was headed by another state university: Polytechnic University of the Philippines, with 56 of its 60 exam-takers passing. It was followed by the University of Santo Tomas, 143 of 161 passing; then by University of San Carlos, 58 of 68; and rounded up by De La Salle College of St. Benilde, 46 of 55.
Of 3,370 exam takers, 2,094 passed, constituting a 62% national passing rate.
