President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. affirmed on Thursday that police operations under his administration have been conducted in a humane and bloodless manner.
Speaking at the 123rd police anniversary celebration in Camp Crame, Marcos highlighted the administration's commitment to cracking down on illegal activities such as drugs, smuggling, illegal gambling, private armed groups, human trafficking, and general criminality through effective yet lawful means.
"Indeed, police operations are now conducted as humanely, truthfully, and bloodlessly as possible," Marcos said in his speech.
Under the leadership of Police General Rommel Marbil, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has made significant strides in maintaining peace and order. The President acknowledged the PNP's intensified patrol operations and increased police deployment, which have contributed to a notable decline in crime rates, especially in areas prone to criminal activity.
Marcos called on all police personnel to support the PNP's leadership, expressing confidence in their ability to sustain current initiatives and uphold the public's growing trust in the police force.
"I trust that you will sustain your current initiatives and take care of the people's increasing confidence in the PNP's abilities," Marcos said.
