The tremor which has been determined to be tectonic in origin struck 15 kilometers southwest of Monreal at 9:01 p.m. Its depth of focus was about 9 kilometers. These intensities have been reported in the following areas: Intensity V - City of Masbate, MASBATE Intensity IV - Monreal, Batuan, and San Fernando, MASBATE Intensity III - Aroroy, Baleno, Claveria, Dimasalang, Milagros, Mobo, and Uson, MASBATE;San Vicente, NORTHERN SAMAR; Almagro, and Tagapul-an, SAMAR Intensity II - Cataingan, Mandaon, Palanas, and Pio V.
