Before rising to fame as the kings of P-Pop, the members of SB19 were just like many Filipinos, dreaming of a better life and trying their luck with lottery tickets.
In an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" at their company's headquarters, 1Z Entertainment, the group revealed that buying lotto tickets was a bonding activity for them. During the interview's final segment, the members were asked if they were guilty of playing the lottery, to which they all enthusiastically responded, "guilty!"
Josh admitted that he still occasionally buys tickets when the jackpot is high, saying, "Just in case, there's no harm in trying." Stell added that it was a regular bonding activity for them in Magallanes, and they even tried their luck with scratch-off games.
Pablo explained that playing the lottery was a way for the group to keep things light as they faced the uncertainties of pursuing a career in music. "Our joke was, if we don't become famous, at least we might win the lottery," he shared.
Today, SB19 has achieved the success they once hoped for, becoming one of the leading P-Pop groups in the Philippines and managing their own company. With an album, two EPs, multiple singles, and solo projects for each member, SB19 has come a long way from their early days as hopeful trainees.
The group, consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, is well-known for hits like "GENTO," "MAPA," and "Kalakal."
