Alden Richards revealed that he developed a closer bond with his leading lady Kathryn Bernardo while filming their upcoming movie, "Hello, Love, Again." The actor shared that working together on the project provided an opportunity for them to get to know each other better.
During an interview on "24 Oras" on Friday, August 30, Richards, who recently returned to the Philippines from Canada, spoke about how their relationship evolved during the production of the film. "Mas naging solid, mas naging close, mas nakilala namin ang isa't isa (We became more solid, we became closer, and we got to know each other better)," he said. "You really get to know the person once you work with her in a set-up na matagal magkasama (for a long time)."
Filming Across Borders
Richards and Bernardo completed their scenes in Alberta, Canada last August. The production also included filming in Hong Kong last June, though it remains unclear if the movie has fully wrapped up shooting.
Richards mentioned feeling nostalgic when filming ended, reflecting on the strong friendships that developed among the cast and crew. He also hinted that the sequel would present a "more mature take" on the characters Ethan and Joy's storyline.
"I felt a bit sentimental, of course, with the place. Ang haba ng time na magkakasama kami [sa Canada] so nagulat ako na in an instant, tapos na pala siya (We were together for a long time in Canada so I was surprised that it was done in an instant)," he shared.
Balancing Multiple Projects
Despite a hectic schedule, Richards managed to juggle multiple projects. He was filming "Hello, Love, Again" while also working on the historical drama "Pulang Araw." Additionally, he made time to participate in GMA's Sparkle Tour in the US and Canada.
"It's always been worth it naman. Of course, it's tiring physically, but the mere fact that you're blessed with work, and you're able to do those things in a short span of time, nakakatuwa kasi at least, na-cover ko siya. Nagawa natin siya kahit marami tayong ginagawa on the side," he expressed.
About the Sequel, "Hello, Love, Again"
"Hello, Love, Again" is the much-anticipated sequel to the hit 2019 film "Hello, Love, Goodbye," which is currently the second highest-grossing Filipino film. The sequel continues the story of Joy (played by Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan (played by Alden Richards), who navigate their love for each other despite personal challenges as overseas Filipino workers. The film is set to premiere in theaters on November 13, following its confirmation last May.
As fans eagerly await the release, Richards and Bernardo's strengthened bond both on and off-screen adds an exciting dimension to their chemistry in the film.
