The Department of Science and Technology's Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory in Davao (DOST RSTL-Davao) has successfully sustained its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for calibration, chemical, and biological testing.
This accomplishment was confirmed following the First Surveillance with Special Assessment and Second Surveillance visits conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry-Philippine Accreditation Bureau (DTI-PAB).
The DTI-PAB assessment team, led by Ms. Dinah Lyra Pantaleon and supported by technical experts in calibration, chemical, and biological testing, thoroughly evaluated the laboratory's adherence to international standards. The review reinforced the laboratory's commitment to quality, with all current signatories recommended to remain approved. Additionally, two new signatories were approved for biological testing. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation is a prestigious recognition, signaling that a laboratory's testing and calibration procedures meet the highest global standards for accuracy and reliability. This ongoing accreditation highlights DOST RSTL-Davao's dedication to providing exceptional scientific services, which are crucial for sectors such as food safety, environmental monitoring, and industrial quality control.
"The sustained accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire RSTL-Davao team. Our continuous improvement in calibration and testing capabilities is vital for supporting the region's industries with precise and dependable scientific services," said Dr. Anthony Sales, DOST XI Regional Director.
Further advancements include the addition of the Soxtec method (CHE-TM-027) to the laboratory's approved scope for total fat analysis in food products, which enhances its ability to meet the testing needs of the food industry. This achievement marks another step forward in DOST RSTL-Davao's mission to provide high-quality testing.
