It was January 2023 when Jeff and I accepted the invitation from my high school friends to join them for the first time in car camping at Lucia's in Tagaytay. I still vividly remember that while we were on our way to the campsite, I was working on my Financial Management Report and feeling burdened by the unfinished presentation file for the upcoming conference the following week. My past life in Finance—all gone and buried in memories. Chos.
That first car camping trip with friends was followed by another get-together at The Preserve in Tanay, where we enjoyed a bonfire and getting wet in the river. Then, we went to Harvest Hills Family Farm in Nasugbu, Batangas, where we had a short but memorable hike. Being one with nature has become our primary way of destressing. Laughing and eating with friends have been our go-to activities to relax over the weekend and to free our minds from worry.
Since then, our trunk has been filled with camping gear, ranging from basic tools to items purely for aesthetic purposes. Our feeds have been flooded with posts about outdoor campsites, setups, and activities. Then, just last April, we gave in to the temptation to go camping on our own. It was our first time camping without our "Camprends," but with all their guidance—especially when it came to adding-to-cart—we managed to survive.
After extensive research, Jeff decided to take me to Tanay EPIC PARC Rainforest Camp PH.
Brighter days ahead.

Argghh ayoko pa umuwi.
Another piece of the heart's album—sealed in the vault of precious memories—was created that weekend. How I wish we could do this more often, but the following months were marked by unexpected rains.
The "nagkakaedad na weekend," as they always say, but I guess I'm already at the stage of acceptance. Camping, for me, is the best way to escape the chaos of city life, to spend a little time in nature, and to savor the fresh air, warm fire, and starry night.
